Main duties of the job

Are you keen to provide people with personalised care and support? Are you good at offering comforting words? Are you courageous enough to stand alongside local people and their families as they face the end of life?

Were seeking enthusiastic, caring and compassionate individuals to join our hospice team working on our wards in Crawley.

This post is offered on a Bank basis, working adhoc hours as and when required. If you are an experienced care worker, seeking flexible, ad hoc work this role would be great for you!

Job responsibilities

About You:

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a professional demeanour and display a commitment to providing a high standard of care to our patients. An NVQ 3 in Health/Social care or relevant experience in Care work is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. Candidates should have a sound understanding of health and safety procedures and infection prevention & control.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • General good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Care Certificate
  • NVQ 2/3 in Health/Social care or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience of caring
  • Experience of delivering care to patients within a Hospice, Hospital, Community or Care Home

Attitude and Behaviours

  • A flexible approach to work and an ability to workday and night shifts.
  • Demonstrates commitment to St Catherine\’s vision and values.
  • An understanding of the need for self care when working in a palliative care environment.
