Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented catering team in the role of Bank Senior Catering Assistant. We are seeking a talented, compassionate individual to join our kitchen team.
Job responsibilities
Working as part of the catering team the role of Senior Catering Assistant is to support the Chef in the preparation of varied, appetising and attractive food and beverages to patients, relatives, staff and visitors to the hospice. Senior Catering Assistants will observe and maintain high standards of personal hygiene in addition to safety and hygiene procedures for preparation and storage of food and use of kitchen equipment. The Senior Catering Assistant will also ensure efficient and economical use of hospice resources and supplies. At all times the needs of our patients and relatives are paramount, with confidentiality, sensitivity and flexibility essential.
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, good basic English and Maths
- Food Hygiene and Allergens Level 2 qualification or equivalent
- Further catering qualifications, NVQs or equivalent
Experience
- Good organisational skills
- Previous experience of working within a catering environment
- Knowledge and experience of working to H&SAW, COSHH standards
- Previous experience of working with volunteers

£15.49 an hour. Includes 25% enhancement of £3.10.
