This post is offered on a bank basis, working ad-hoc shifts to cover periods of absence, holiday and business need. Our Housekeeping shifts are 7.30am - 1pm and 1pm - 6.30pm. This is a great opportunity for work life balance in a meaningful and rewarding role, ensuring our high standards of cleanliness are maintained.

Main duties of the job:

  • Providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, families and visitors.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in both clinical and non-clinical areas.
  • Following infection prevention and control procedures throughout your work.
  • Cleaning and maintaining patients' rooms, with sensitivity, compassion and respect.
  • Ensuring all areas are welcoming and safe for patients, visitors and staff.

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge & experience of working to H&SAW, COSHH standards.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Good motivational skills with the ability to engage and empathise.
  • The ability to write and produce clear and effective correspondence.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
  • High standard of personal presentation of work.
  • Attention to detail and a strong motivation to maintain high standards.
  • Basic PC Skills.
  • Confidence to engage with patients, hospice visitors & the general public.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, good basic English & Maths.
  • NVQs or equivalent.
