36 hrs p/w, all year round. Required as soon as possible. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self‑motivated Caretaker who will play a key role in further enhancing our school site so that we have the highest standards in safety and cleanliness to welcome the whole community.

About you:

  • Are you someone who is reliable, proactive, hardworking and flexible with a positive outlook on life?
  • Have you got good organisational skills – with the ability to plan, schedule and evaluate your own work?
  • Do you take a genuine pride in your place of work - have you got DIY skills and the ability to competently carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating?
  • Can you demonstrate good inter‑personal skills with all members of our school community – children, parents/carers, colleagues, governors and the many visitors that come to St Catherine’s?
  • Do you enjoy learning new skills and keeping up to date with procedures?
  • We will need you to be jointly responsible for Health and Safety on site, including security and maintenance systems.
  • Are you able to use a PC and operate basic software (internet, emails, Word documents)?
  • Are you committed to being fully involved in all aspects of school life at St Catherine’s – upholding our Catholic ethos and values on a day to day basis and occasionally at special weekend events too?

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday: 07:15 to 11:15, 15:00 to 18:15. The shift pattern can be flexible – please talk to us if this doesn’t suit you. Occasional ad‑hoc overtime hours may be requested for PTA events at the school.

Salary: from £29,763 to £31,073 per year.

Location: St Catherine's Catholic Primary School, Vale Drive, Barnet, Hertfordshire, EN5 2ED.
