By assisting in the preparation of ingredients, maintaining a clean kitchen and supporting the cook with meal preparation where needed, our kitchen assistants help provide an enhanced dining experience and better quality of life for our residents.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to ensure the cleanliness and hygienic appearance of the kitchen, cleaning all equipment according to the cleaning schedule. You will also assist the Cook when and where necessary in preparing vegetables during busy periods.
Rate of Pay: £12.25 to £12.28 per hour
Contract Type: Weekend Part time
Contract Hours: Sat & Sun 08:30 to 10:30am
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist cook in the preparation of vegetables and at very busy periods where necessary.
- To clean the cooker, oven hot plate, Bain Maries, and all other equipment including Fridges and Freezers as per the cleaning schedule.
- To follow the cleaning schedule as directed by the Head Cook.
- To deal with the waste bags in accordance with health & safety and infection control procedures.
- Ensure that tea trolleys and trays are kept clean at all times.
- Ensure the dishwasher is maintained to required standard as per cleaning schedules.
Essential Skills, Characteristics and Experience:
- Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above.
