Salary: £29,544 to £31,324 Per annum, inclusive of a variable shift allowance
Closing Date: Tuesday 17 November 2026

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our growing Estates team as a Premises Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our campus remains safe, secure, welcoming and well maintained, providing our students with the very best environment in which to learn and thrive.
As part of the Estates Team, you will undertake a wide range of responsibilities to support the day-to-day operation of the College. This will include carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, such as decorating, basic plumbing and emergency repairs, as well as securing buildings, conducting security checks, and ensuring that our premises, furniture, fittings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
The role also involves a variety of practical duties, including setting up rooms for meetings and events, moving furniture and equipment, removing waste, and ensuring entrances, pathways and external areas remain clean, safe and presentable.
In addition, you will support the College's venue hire and lettings programme. This will involve welcoming customers, assisting them in accessing the relevant facilities, and delivering an excellent standard of customer service to ensure a positive experience for all visitors.
We are looking for someone with experience or knowledge of basic building maintenance and repair, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work. You will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of personal responsibility, and the ability to build positive working relationships across the College community. Trustworthiness, reliability, pride in your work and a willingness to support others are all essential qualities for this role.
Ideally, you will have experience working within a building, trades or premises environment and hold relevant qualifications or training. However, we would also welcome applications from individuals who have some practical experience and a genuine enthusiasm to learn and develop their skills.
The post operates on a shift pattern covering the hours of 5.30am to 10.00pm, with weekend working shared across the team on a rotating basis. This typically involves working one full weekend in every four weeks, with days off during the week (Thursday and Friday) and the following Monday off when scheduled on the weekend rota.
Please note that weekend shifts operate within different hours to the weekday pattern. Saturday shifts are typically worked between 8.00am and 6.00pm, and Sunday shifts between 8.30am and 4.30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break on each day.
