We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate has an awareness and understanding of the needs of young people. Experience in this area is desirable, but an ability to support young people at a critical time in their lives and to assist with progress is more important.
Position Details
- Reporting to: SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo
- Hours: 32.5 hrs per week, Monday – Friday 9:00am‑3:15pm, term time only
- Salary: Grade 4, Scale 4‑5 – actual salary £18,548 – £18,841 (pay award pending)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers and support students with special educational needs in a day‑to‑day manner.
- Provide individualised support to help students progress academically and socially.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualised plans.
- Support the creation of a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Awareness and understanding of the needs of young people with special educational needs.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to supporting the progress and well‑being of pupils.
