Als eines der bundesweit ersten beiden Akademischen Lehrkrankenhäuser sind wir vom Medizinischen Fakultätentag der Bundesrepublik Deutschland im Februar 2015 für unsere hervorragende Ausbildungsqualität ausgezeichnet worden.
Studierende der Medizin können bei uns ihr Praktisches Jahr sowie in manchen Kliniken auch Famulaturen absolvieren.

Unsere Chefärzte bieten den Studenten zur Vorbereitung auf das Staatsexamen wöchentliche Fortbildungen sowie auch die Teilnahme an interdisziplinären Fallkonferenzen an.
Dank der guten Verkehrsanbindung erreichen Sie Hildesheim von Göttingen aus direkt mit dem ICE (fährt stündlich, Fahrzeit: 28 Minuten).
Die Fahrtkosten werden von uns bis zur Höchstgrenze (derzeit 249 Euro) erstattet.
Unsere PJ-Studenten durchlaufen in einem festen Rotationszyklus die internistischen Kliniken (Medizinische Klinik I – IV) sowie die chirurgischen Kliniken.
Darüber hinaus bieten wir Ihnen sechs mögliche Wahlfächer.
Lerninhalte für unsere PJ-Studenten
In der zentralen Notaufnahme (drei bis vier Wochen) erlernen, erweitern und vertiefen Sie Ihre Fähigkeiten in der neurologischen Anamneseerhebung und Untersuchung.
Dem Charakter einer Notaufnahme entsprechend führen Sie hier bei ambulanten und stationär zu versorgenden Patienten akute Maßnahmen zur Differenzialdiagnostik durch und leiten erste therapeutische Schritte ein.
Während der vier- bis sechswöchigen Zeit auf der Normalstation erarbeiten Sie systematisch und fallbezogen das gesamte Spektrum der neurologischen Differenzialdiagnostik und -therapie.
Neben den anderen Assistenzärzten betreuen Sie einzelne Patienten eigenständig, stellen Behandlungspläne auf und erstellen Arztbriefe sowie weitere Dokumentation.
Während Ihrer drei- bis vierwöchigen Phase auf der Stroke Unit, Epilepsy Care Unit und der Intensivstation erarbeiten Sie die Besonderheiten der akut- und intensivmedizinischen neurologischen Behandlung, insbesondere der Schlaganfall- und Epilepsiebehandlung.
Sie erhalten außerdem Einblicke in die Durchführung und Befundung neurophysiologischer Funktionsdiagnostik (zwei bis drei Wochen).
In jedem Ihrer Ausbildungsabschnitte werden Sie jeweils einem Assistenzarzt und einem Oberarzt zugeordnet, die Sie je nach Kenntnis- und Ausbildungsstand zur Anleitung und Supervision begleiten.
