We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our school family. The successful candidate will undertake responsibilities associated with both a Teaching Assistant Level 3 and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role. While these are separate positions, we would ideally like one person to fulfil both roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the school through targeted intervention, classroom support, and planned learning activities.
  • Work with individuals, groups, and whole classes to enhance pupil achievement and progress.
  • Deliver planned lessons and learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Provide high-quality class cover and lead learning when teachers are absent or released for leadership, management or professional development activities.
  • Support pupils with additional needs and ensure all children can access learning successfully.
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to assessment processes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support high-quality outcomes for pupils.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school events and activities where appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working with primary-aged children and supporting high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Experience of delivering learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
  • Confidence, knowledge and skills to lead learning and provide whole-class cover when required.
  • Secure understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Mathematics.
  • Effective questioning and feedback to promote progress, independence and a love of learning.
  • High expectations of achievement, behaviour and personal development for all pupils.
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, adapting support appropriately.
  • Patient, nurturing, resilient and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Organised, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
  • Supports and promotes the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
