About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager (or aspiring Registered Manager) to take on the management of our existing Ofsted rated āGoodā 3-bed childrenās residential home in a leafy suburb area of Walsall (with the possibility of becoming dual registered in the future). This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to lead the identity, culture, and ongoing success of a 3-bed provision where you will play a pivotal role in embedding best practice, ensuring compliance, and creating a nurturing, stable home where children can thrive. You will be supported throughout the Ofsted registration process and will have the full backing of a committed senior leadership team who share your passion for delivering outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day to day management of an Ofsted regulated 3-bed childrenās home.
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership to staff teams leading on recruiting, training, and developing colleagues to deliver exceptional care.
- Ensure the homes meet and exceed Ofsted standards and the Childrenās Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards.
- Lead on all aspects of safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance, including Regulation 44 and 45 processes.
- Promote a positive, child-centred culture where young people feel safe and empowered.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure sustainability and quality of care.
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, families, and local authorities to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a childrenās residential care setting.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and the Childrenās Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, resilience, and empathy in managing complex situations.
- Strong organisational and financial management skills.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the homes.
- Embrace the challenge to inspire your team and lay the foundations for our children to grow and prosper.
- Fluent proficiency in English and right to work in the UK.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager of an Ofsted-registered home.
- Experience establishing or opening a new childrenās home.
- Demonstrated success in achieving āGoodā or āOutstandingā Ofsted outcomes.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexibility required to meet the needs of the homes).
- Weekend availability as required.
Salary: competitive up to Ā£70,000 (if dual registered) + generous signing on bonus as well as other performance and loyalty related bonuses.
