Salary: Scale 5, Points 24-25, £24,618 - £25,399, Pro Rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week), 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist young people in improving their life skills by designing and implementing life and social skills programmes in individual and group settings.
- Support and encourage young people to undertake the St Basils life skills programme and achieve the qualification.
- Encourage and motivate young people to engage with and sustain education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Support young people's progress by working innovatively and flexibly to resolve any issues that arise.
- Refer young people to work experience and employment opportunities as appropriate.
- Establish and develop links with training providers, employers, and volunteering networks to improve access to training opportunities.
- Identify and recommend additional resources and services suitable for the client group.
- Maintain accurate records of all action plans and progress for young people.
- Undertake holistic risk and needs assessments and develop support and risk management plans.
- Support young people in developing positive family and support networks.
- Prepare young people for settled accommodation and provide ongoing support.
- Be available for regular support sessions and respond to crises.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding the welfare of young people.
- Promote and facilitate young people's participation in their support plans and service management.
- Facilitate access to other support services for young people.
- Ensure benefit claims are made and maintained to maximize income.
- Organize and accompany young people to appointments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records such as support plans and daily logs.
- Be flexible by being available out of hours on a rota basis for support and crisis situations.
- Work as part of a team, providing cover for colleagues as required.
- Assist in preparing accommodation, including some cleaning duties.
- Support in the induction of new staff and supervise volunteers, trainees, and students as directed.
