The role supports a diverse patient demographic across four sites: Manzil Way, Ivy Close, Lake St, and Oxford Brookes University. The practice employs a multidisciplinary team of GP partners, salaried GPs, pharmacists, ANPs, paramedics, practice nurses, HCAs, and phlebotomists, with a supportive admin and reception team. The post holder will contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, participate in nursing and practice meetings, and engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and governance activities. Additionally, the role includes maintaining accurate clinical records, monitoring stock and equipment, and supporting a safe, effective, and positive working environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in nursing and practice meetings as required.
- Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and governance activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using agreed systems and templates.
- Monitor and report stock or equipment issues in line with practice procedures.
- Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development.

- Asthma and COPD care.

- Wound management and implementation of wound care in line with evidence‑based guidelines and local policies.
- Cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines.
- Administration of childhood and adult vaccinations under patient group directions according to national immunisation programmes.
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice on diet, alcohol intake and exercise.
- Holistic monitoring of patients with chronic diseases according to NICE guidelines.
- Perform cervical cytology smear tests.
- Venepuncture and removal of suture or staples.
- ECG performance.
- Recognition and management of anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines.
- Maintenance of stock and equipment including refrigeration cold chain management and emergency equipment.
- Knowledge of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate completion of all documentation required for patient health care and registration.
- Collect and maintain statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports.
- Attend and participate in nurse meetings as required.
- Restock and maintain clinical areas and consulting rooms as required.
- Order and safely store vaccines, ensuring the cold chain is maintained at all times.
- Support other clinicians with their training and development needs.
