Job description
Permanent employment opportunity! We are seeking a Warehouse Operative/Class 2 Driver to join our distribution network in Wimborne, Dorset. As a dedicated member of the Distribution team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and on time while maintaining St Austell Brewery\’s fantastic reputation across the South West. You will combine a role within the warehouse team with a driving role as required by the needs of the business. The warehouse/driving split will be approx. 70/30.
Responsibilities
- Picking stock and operating counterbalance equipment
- Putting away deliveries into warehouse
- Supporting with loading and unloading the fleet
- Helping to maintain a clean and tidy site
- Preparing the lorry for delivery and accurately verifying the contents of inventory loads against load sheet documents
- Reviewing all delivery instructions to support service standards
- Completing all documentation promptly and accurately as required
- Ensuring that the vehicle is loaded safely according to the load document
- Delivering stock in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensuring that all legislation relating to driving is complied with, including a tacho card
About you
- Appropriate level of driving licence for the vehicle, and a driver’s tachograph card
- FLT licence for counterbalance
- Relevant driving experience
- Good geographical knowledge of area
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment with a commercial outlook
- You will be delivering kegs with an average weight of 63kg meaning manual handling experience is preferable as the movement of heavy goods must be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner
- Experience operating MHE equipment
- Good working knowledge of H&S practices
