We are seeking a Class 2 Dray Driver to join our award-winning distribution network and be part of the team at our Heathfield Distribution Centre based at Newton Abbot, TQ12. As a dedicated member of the Distribution team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and timely while maintaining St Austell Brewery's fantastic reputation across the South West.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the lorry for delivery and accurately verifying the contents of inventory loads against load sheet documents.
  • Reviewing all delivery instructions to support service standards.
  • Completing all documentation promptly and accurately as required.
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is loaded safely according to the load document.
  • Delivering stock in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring that all legislation relating to driving is complied with, including maintaining a tacho card.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is safe and legal for the road by undertaking and logging routine checks of lights, tyres, oil, water, etc.

Schedule and Working Hours:

This role will require a 45‑hour week on an annualised hours scheme, Monday to Friday, with four Saturdays included in the contract. Start times will vary between 5.30 am and 7.30 am, while finish times vary from 3 pm to 6 pm. Flexible working arrangements may be considered upon request.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate level of driving licence for the vehicle.
  • Current CPC Card and driver tachograph card.
  • Relevant driving experience.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Experience working in a customer‑focused environment with a commercial outlook.
  • Manual handling experience is preferable, as the movement of heavy goods (average 63 kg per keg) must be carried out safely.
