At St Austell Brewery, we don’t just make great beer – we also operate a multi award-winning managed and operator-led pub estate. We’re looking for a Junior Finance Business Partner to join our finance team to support our pub operations. This role blends core accounting with commercial insight in a fast-paced, operational environment. You will play a key role in turning financial data into insight, helping our pubs perform at their best. You’ll take ownership of key elements of the period close and monthly reporting cycle, ensuring financial data is accurate, controlled, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead period-end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Ensure a robust balance sheet, with fully reconciled and understood positions
- Produce monthly P&L reporting, scorecards, and performance analysis
- Support bonus and performance processes, including accruals and calculations
- Maintain strong financial controls across systems (till data, stock, banking, vendor processes)
- Partner with Operations, Payroll, AP and Systems to resolve queries and improve data quality
- Provide insight and commentary to support decision-making and profitability
- Support Finance Business Partners with forecasting, budgeting, and performance reviews
About You
- Detail-focused with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

- Strong communicator, able to work effectively with operational stakeholders
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Commercially aware, with an interest in how finance supports business performance
Your Experience
- Part-qualified or qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar), or relevant degree
- Experience in management accounting, including period-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, handling large datasets)
- Experience working in a commercial or multi-site environment (desirable)
- Proven ability to analyse data and solve problems effectively
