Base pay range
The Old Custom House enjoys a prime position on Padstow’s South Quay. It stands proud as one of the town’s historic stone buildings and buzzes with life as both a community pub and a hot spot for tourists with comfy sea view rooms.
You’ll be working in Cornwall’s foodie capital; a serene location that’s perfect for getting out on the water, exploring the estuary, and navigating the surrounding coastline.
We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to help us deliver experiences that delight. This exciting role will see you work in an inspiring part of the world, motivating a team of passionate people while supporting and occasionally stepping in for the General Manager.
About You
- Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Creating a warm welcome to guests comes naturally to you, making every first impression count to ensure experiences delight from the get-go.
- Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
- You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times.
- You oversee the consistent production of a quality food offering and recognise the importance of the Kitchen Team.
- Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
- A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away.
- You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand.
- Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development.
- You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
