We are looking for an experienced Registered Adult / Mental Health Nurses to join our team. Our Nursing Home is one with residents that have nursing and mental health needs, and although at times the role can be challenging it is a rewarding place to work. Part-time hours starting at 24.5 Friday and Saturday nights.
Main duties of the job:
- As a Registered Nurse your role will be one of responsibility and accountability.
- You will be the nurse in charge when on shift ensuring through good communication and leadership your team provide our residents optimum care.
- Carrying out medication rounds using our electronic systems, managing stock, carrying out CD checks and escalating any medication changes or concerns accordingly to pharmacy teams / home management team.
- Wound care and management, venepuncture, stoma care, end of life care, IV medications.
- Daily documentation of actions and communications on our e-plan, managing and updating care plans for residents who you will be assigned as named nurse.
- To be aware of each service user’s needs and knowing when to communicate with outside agencies and multi-disciplinary teams to provide the best outcomes for our residents.
- Knowledge of recognising and managing any decline in health physical or mental.
- Mandatory training to remain in-date. To attend training sessions required for your role which we support and to continue to develop your skills.

Our aim is to provide holistic care in a happy safe environment, giving person-centred care, whilst encouraging our residents independence and choices over the care they receive and their daily routines.

Qualifications:
- You must be a Registered General or Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC PIN, with no restrictions to work.
Skills:
- The ability to assess care needs and produce care plans for residents that reflect their needs and wishes is essential.
- Basic IT skills are required for this job, as we now use electronic care planning and medication systems. Training will be given in our systems.
Experience:
- You must be a registered general / mental health nurse with experience working within a team and be able to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and other professionals.
- Ability to assess care needs and produce care plans accordingly.
- To use your clinical skills in areas such as: manage wounds, catheter care, venepuncture, suctioning, deteriorating health, end of life care.
- Experience working with, or a knowledge of the needs of those with dementia and mental health diagnoses would be desirable but is not essential.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
