Overview

Our Knaresborough service assists clients 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. We have a variety of shifts including days and sleep-ins. We require enthusiastic, caring individuals to support clients in activities of their choosing. This homely service is set in HG5 Knaresborough. As a support worker you will provide high quality care and support to our clients to enable them to live their best life. St Anne\’s community services has become one of the largest and most respected charities in the north of England, bringing creativity and a can-do approach. We support nearly 2,000 vulnerable adults in specialist residential, supported living and outreach services, enabling them through exceptional care and support to live the best life possible.

Responsibilities

  • Pay: £12.71 per hour supplement rate (regularly reviewed); standard hourly rate £12.21. Note: rate can be withdrawn at any time.
  • Prepare person-centred support plans with clients that reflect their views, aspirations and beliefs, updating them as needed and considering changing needs.
  • Support clients to fulfil their aspirations and live as independently as possible; accompany them on social visits and events, support their interests and hobbies, promote choice, arrange activities and outings, and develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate openly and transparently with clients and team members; act with integrity and follow through on commitments.
  • Provide personal care to clients where required, in a way that respects their choices and dignity.
  • Keep accurate records (daily notes) with client involvement; provide appropriate level of care and support in line with each client’s care plan, including personal care where needed.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining accurate written and numerical records; undertake a wide range of personal care and domestic duties (service-specific).
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role (e.g., climbing stairs, using hoists, pushing wheelchairs, moving people, night work).
  • Adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act where criteria cannot be met due to a disability.
  • Willingness to learn and use computer packages (e.g., Word, Outlook, Internet) and undertake relevant training or qualification in care if required.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member; liaise and communicate effectively with carers, families, inspectors and other external stakeholders.
