Job Overview
First Line Manager/Care Manager – Queensway. Full‑time 37.5 hours per week. Salary £37,167.31 per annum. You will lead, develop and support people with physical or learning disabilities to live a healthy and happy life, working within a Person‑Centred, Respectful, Open, Understanding and Dedicated (PROUD) framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management & Development – recruit, induct, develop and manage staff in a professional and supportive manner.
- Training & Performance Alignment – identify, review and address training and development needs of the team, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Service Quality & Best Practice – promote and implement current best practices to keep services responsive and effective.
- Client Rights & Environment – uphold the rights, dignity and wellbeing of clients, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
- Personal Development – collaborate with the Area Manager to identify and address your own development needs.
- Client Involvement & Empowerment – maximise opportunities for client participation in planning, delivery and evaluation, fostering inclusion.
Strategic & Compliance Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain effective working relationships across teams and external organisations.
- Contribute to policy development and service innovation for continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations and adhere to organisational values and procedures.
- Take accountability for service quality, implementing assurance measures and reviewing performance.
- Manage operational efficiency, minimise voids, and optimise resource use for continuity of care.
Person Specification
- Experience of support/care work relevant to the service.
Qualifications
- Essential – Experience of support/care work relevant to the service.
- Desirable – Current driver licence; Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and/or Management.
