Starting salary £12.21ph. Our Queensway service assists clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We require enthusiastic, caring individuals to take our clients out to access the community and achieve meaningful lives. We have a variety of shifts including days, nights and sleep ins.

This homely service is set in HD8 Huddersfield, and a valid UK driving licence is desirable due to the remote location.

Main duties of the job

  • Person Centred – Prepare person‑centred support plans with clients that reflect their views and aspirations and respect their beliefs and opinions, reviewing and amending them as necessary and considering the client’s changing needs and wishes.
  • Respectful – Support clients to fulfil their aspirations, supporting them to live as independently as possible, in accordance with their skills and abilities. This includes accompanying them on social visits and events, supporting their interests and hobbies, promoting choice, arranging activities and outings, and developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Open – Communicate in an open and transparent way with clients and other team members, acting with integrity and doing what you say you will do.
  • Understanding – Provide personal care to clients in a way that respects their choices and dignity. This can include assistance with washing and toileting.
  • Dedicated – Keep accurate records, including daily notes, with the full involvement of the client.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Bringing creativity and a can‑do approach, you will personify our values of being Person‑Centred, Respectful, Open, Understanding and Dedicated (PROUD). Provide an appropriate level of care and support to clients in accordance with their care plan, including personal care. Maintain accurate written and numerical records. Carry out a wide range of personal care and domestic duties specific to each service. Perform physical requirements of the role, including but not limited to climbing stairs, using hoists, pushing wheelchairs, moving people, and night work. Adjustments will be considered under the Equality Act where needed due to disability. Use computer packages (e.g., Word, Outlook, the Internet) and undertake relevant training and qualification in care if required. Work cooperatively as a team member. Liaise and communicate effectively with carers, families, inspectors and other stakeholders. A valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
