Location: Ashwood Group, Leeds
Starting salary £12.21ph rising to £12.41 after successful completion of probation, increasing to £12.60 after a further 12 months in post.
Our 3 services assist clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We require enthusiastic, caring individuals to take our clients out bowling, shopping and to the cinema. We have a variety of shifts including days, nights, and sleep overs. If you love drawing or doing puzzles this rewarding job could be for you.
As a Support Worker, you will provide high quality care and support to our clients to enable them to live their best life. You will be passionate in making a difference to our client’s lives, helping them to fulfil their aspirations and ambitions. We support nearly 2,000 vulnerable adults in specialist residential, supported living and outreach services.
Responsibilities:- Prepare person‑centred support plans with clients which reflect their views and aspirations and respect their beliefs and opinions, reviewing and amending them as necessary.
- Support clients to fulfil their aspirations, supporting them to live as independently as possible, including accompanying them on social visits and events, supporting their interests and hobbies, promoting choice, arranging activities and outings, and developing their skills and knowledge.
- Communicate in an open and transparent way with clients and other team members, acting with integrity.
- Provide personal care to clients in a way that respects their choices and dignity, including assistance with washing and toileting where required.
- Keep accurate records, including daily notes, with full client involvement.
- Ensure that all support and care are provided in a way that protects clients from abuse and exploitation, maintains their dignity, and supports positive risk‑taking.
- Support quality inspection processes, cooperating with on‑site inspectors in relation to information requests.
- Work in accordance with health and safety requirements, such as manual handling, food hygiene, fire safety, infection control, and risk assessment procedures.
- Carry out household duties in accordance with the client’s needs, including cooking, cleaning, laundry and other domestic duties.
- Perform physical requirements of the role, including climbing stairs, using hoists, pushing wheelchairs, moving people and night work.
- Use computer packages (e.g., Word, Outlook, Internet) and undertake relevant training and qualification in care if required.
- Work cooperatively as a team member and liaise effectively with carers, families, inspectors and other stakeholders.
