Are you passionate about supporting strong governance and ensuring high standards across an organisation? Due to maternity leave, we’re looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to join our Corporate Governance team on a temporary basis as a Corporate Governance Officer. In this role, you’ll provide end‑to‑end support for meetings, ensuring they are well planned, co‑ordinated and efficiently run. From drafting agendas and collating reports, to publishing meeting packs and producing accurate minutes, your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our governance processes.

You’ll play a key role in supporting information governance and data protection, working alongside the Corporate Governance and Data Protection Officer to manage records, respond to Data Subject Access and information requests. You will support and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The role also supports the business with insurance claims, fleet management and corporate support services. Building strong, professional relationships across the organisation, you will work closely with senior leaders and Trustees to support our mission and ensure high standards of governance.

Main duties of the job

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers and external bodies such as the Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO) and Caldicott Guardian. Actively build positive and professional relationships across the business with colleagues, senior and executive leaders and Trustees.
  • Data Driven Insights/Information Governance: Supporting the Corporate Governance and Data Protection Officer you will work with the SIRO, Caldicott Guardian and others to manage records in line with policies. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
  • Information Management: Support colleagues to ensure sufficient training and awareness on Records Management across the organisation. Collate information and data from various sources and produce reports and spreadsheets to support decision‑making processes.
  • Governance support: Provide end‑to‑end governance support to the Trustees and Senior Management Team including calendar planning, co‑ordinating meetings, drafting agendas, collating reports and publishing meeting packs to ensure smooth and well‑run meetings, and attending meetings to produce timely and accurate minutes.
  • Insurance and Fleet: Track insurance claims, prepare initial information for claims and support the insurance renewal process. Manage driving permissions and verifications and provide guidance and support to managers around driver compliance, fleet and vehicle rental.
  • Support Services: Assist in corporate support services contributing to efficient and effective corporate support services responsive to the needs of the organisation. Cover reception and administrative duties where required.
  • Policies: Contribute to and support in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures. Work with the Corporate Governance & Data Protection Officer to ensure policies are up to date and support their work on the Policy Procedure Working Group.
  • Development: Working with colleagues across Corporate Governance, contribute to enhancing collaboration and efficiency across departments by streamlining governance processes to improve record‑keeping practices and ensure compliance with data protection and information governance policies.
