Our Oxfield Court service is looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse to support the manager. The role ensures that all clinical needs of clients are appropriately assessed and plans of care and support are developed and implemented, meeting their stated needs and maintaining overall wellbeing. This work is carried out within the context of best current thinking and practice.

About Oxfield Court Service: Oxfield Court is a nursing home and respite service with 28 beds across five bungalows in Huddersfield. We support clients with complex medical needs, challenging behaviours and specialise in End-of-Life care for people with Learning Disabilities. All care is person‑centred; we build lasting relationships with families and work closely with external multi‑disciplinary professionals to deliver outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the manager in ensuring that the clinical needs of clients are assessed and that plans of care and support are developed, monitored, and updated.
  • Recruit, develop, support and manage staff, ensuring they are competent and professionally appropriate.
  • Maintain quality of service delivery and oversee the ongoing monitoring of support plans and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with St. Anne’s values, policies, procedures and best current practice.
  • Provide clinical supervision to staff and support the clinical supervision of Specialist Support Workers.
  • Contribute to policy, procedure and service development in line with the organisation’s aims.
  • Monitor statutory and regulatory requirements of local commissioning agreements and national regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective links with teams, other organisations, agencies or external workers.
  • Ensure a healthy, safe and stimulating environment for both clients and staff.
  • Coordinate supervision, documentation, multidisciplinary liaison, shift coverage, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Use resources efficiently and promote client participation.
  • Mentor student nurses on placement.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential criteria: Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse in Learning Disabilities (RNLD). Previous experience working in care (employment or carer at home).

Desirable criteria: Previous experience working in a learning‑disability environment.
