Support Worker North Tyneside – Full & part-time hours – Driver Desirable. Join to apply for the Support Worker North Tyneside role at St Anne\’s Community Services.

Our Longbenton service assists clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We require enthusiastic, caring individuals to take clients on day trips to the beach, restaurants or the cinema. We have a variety of shifts including days, nights, and sleep overs. If you have a great sense of humour or love to play bingo this rewarding job could be for you. This role includes aspects of personal care and peg feeding, with full training provided. A UK driving license is desirable as the service is set in Longbenton (NE12) and is close to public transport routes.

St Anne’s Community Services is a large charity focused on person-centred care. We support almost 2,000 vulnerable adults across residential, supported living and outreach services, helping them live their best possible life.

Main duties of the job

  • Willing to provide an appropriate level of care and support to clients, in accordance with their care plan, including personal care.
  • Prepare person-centred support plans reflecting clients\’ views and aspirations and review them as needs change.
  • Support clients to fulfil their aspirations and live independently, including accompanying them on outings, supporting interests and hobbies, and promoting choice.
  • Communicate openly with clients and team members, maintain integrity, and assist with quality inspection processes.
  • Keep accurate records, including daily notes, in line with Health and Safety requirements (Manual Handling, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, infection control, risk assessment).
  • Carry out a range of domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, laundry) as required by the client.
  • Undertake or learn to undertake a range of personal care tasks and support as needed, including night work if required.
