Support Worker Jenkin Lodge – Full-time Hours

Job Overview: Our Ingleton supported living service assists clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We require enthusiastic, caring individuals to take them to art classes, discos and out for countryside drives. We have a variety of shifts including days, nights and sleep overs. If you love listening to music, watching star trek or have a jazzy waistcoat like our client David this rewarding role could be for you. This homely service is set in beautiful countryside, due to the remote nature we do require drivers. As a Support Worker, you will provide high quality care and support to our clients to enable them to live their best life. You will be passionate in making a difference to our client’s lives, helping them to fulfil their aspirations and ambitions.

We support nearly 2,000 vulnerable adults in specialist residential, supported living and outreach services, enabling them through exceptional care and support to live their best possible life.

Rates: £12.21 per hour standard hourly rate, £13.21 per hour supplement rate (regularly reviewed). The supplement rate and its availability may change or be withdrawn at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Willing to provide an appropriate level of care and support to clients, in accordance with their care plan including personal care.
  • Prepare person-centred support plans with clients which reflect their views and aspirations and respect their beliefs and opinions, reviewing and amending them as necessary and considering the client’s changing needs and wishes.
  • Support clients to fulfil their aspirations, supporting them to live as independently as possible, in accordance with their skills and abilities. This may include accompanying them on social visits and events, supporting them with their interests and hobbies, promoting choice, arranging activities and outings, and developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate in an open and transparent way with clients and other team members, acting with integrity and doing what you say that you will do.
  • Provide personal care in a way that respects client choices and dignity where required.
  • Keep appropriate, accurate records, including daily notes, with full involvement of the client.

Other requirements

  • UK Driving licence is essential.
  • Able to carry out the physical requirements of the role including but not limited to climbing stairs, using hoists, pushing wheelchairs and night work. Adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act where criteria cannot be met due to a disability.
  • Able to work cooperatively as a team member and liaise effectively with carers, families, inspectors and external stakeholders.
  • Able to use computer packages (such as Word, Outlook and the Internet) and undertake relevant training and qualification in care if required.
  • Need to be able to drive due to remote location requirements of the service.

Essential criteria

  • Care Certificate or be required to undertake Care Certificate

Desirable criteria

  • Current driving licence
  • Previous experience in care (employment or as a carer at home)
