Working Pattern: Two permanent positions working 31.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Friday)
About the Role: St. Andrew's Primary School are seeking two committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our school team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning in the classroom and small‑group settings under the guidance of teaching and senior staff.
- Support pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND.
- Implement literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Assist with planning cycles and prepare learning resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil independence.
- Assist with supervision during break/lunchtime and accompany pupils on trips when required.

Essential Qualities:
- Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
- Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to relate well to both children and adults.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
- Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum.
- Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy.
- NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
