Salary:NJC Grade E: £31,525 - £34,811 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)
Working Pattern:These are two permanent positionsworking 13 hours per week (2 days) and 26 hours per week (4 days), 39weeks per year
About the Role
St. Andrew’s Primary School are seeking two dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about supporting teaching, learning and pupil development across the school.
Working under an agreed system of supervision, you will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes
- Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources
- Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence
- Lead small‑group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies
- Contribute to out‑of‑school learning activities as required
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can bring compassion and commitment to the role.
Essential qualities include:
- Experience working with children across key stages
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous HLTA experience
- Willingness to undertake relevant training
- First Aid qualification
- Awareness of health and safety practices
