We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our patient population, supporting both chronic disease management and preventative healthcare.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver general nursing services including wound care, immunisations, cervical cytology, and health checks
- Support the management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and COPD
- Provide health promotion and lifestyle advice to patients
- Assist in infection prevention and control measures
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with practice policies
- Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider healthcare team
About us
St. Andrew's is a large, friendly, very busy practice of 15,900 patients. You will work as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team including ANPs, APPs, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, nurses, and health care assistants. We have four GP partners and four salaried GPs and a very friendly admin team supporting everyone.
Job responsibilities
- Deliver a range of nursing services including:
- Wound care and dressings
- Immunisations and vaccinations
- Cervical screening (smears)
- Contraception advice and administration
- ECGs and basic health checks
Person Specification
- Must be a Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
- Cervical Cytology Screening trained
- Wound Management trained
- Baby immunisations
- Have experience/training in Diabetes and/or Asthma long term condition management
- Experience in Primary Care
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A pro-active patient-centred approach
