Salary From £23,879 per annum, plus enhancements

Full time: 37.5 hours

Winslow was developed to provide enhanced care for individuals with complex presentations and behaviours that may challenge, who are transitioning away from secure hospital care to a community setting. It comprises six self-contained residential apartments offering independent living within a community-based environment. With an emphasis on sustainable living and vocational skills development, our aim is to enable each service user to transition to successful community living.

As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a team to deliver and maintain high standards of person-centred care, supporting service users’ daily activities and community rehabilitation in accordance with individual care plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

Your profile

There are no set entry requirements to become a Support Worker, but we are looking for people who can demonstrate that they have the following characteristics:

  • Caring, patient and kind
  • Resilient
  • Cheerful and friendly, with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Willing to do personal care tasks (washing, toileting, etc.) in some areas
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures, and to keep calm
  • Able to work in a team, but use your own initiative

You’ll also need:

  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Observational skills
