We are St Andrew’s, a mental health charity with a clear purpose: to inspire hope for people living with complex mental health needs. Our Birmingham site is on an ambitious improvement journey. As we continue to evolve, we are looking for compassionate, resilient, calm, and proactive Social Care Assistants to join our team.

St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprising eight units that cover medium and low security for both men and women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.

The successful applicant will be a member of the social work and wider clinical team, supporting the delivery of a Social Work Service to service users and their carers. There is an expectation that the post holder has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will seek to develop their skills in the specialist area. You should have experience within a mental health and autistic spectrum disorder or learning disability field of work.

Joining our friendly social work team, you will be responsible to our Lead Social Worker and supervised by qualified social workers within the team. Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged.
