The role
Working closely with our Chief Medical Officer, you will ensure safe, effective and patient-centred psychiatric care across the Northampton site. You will provide senior clinical leadership and operational oversight for medical staff within the organisation’s inpatient services. Your role will combine day-to-day operational management of the medical workforce with active participation in clinical governance and longer-term workforce development, supporting the organisation’s mission to deliver outcomes driven, high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care. You will provide line management, supervision and professional support to the Clinical Directors and through them, the Consultant Psychiatrists and NMACs within the Divisions. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a culture of open communication, reflective practice and shared clinical leadership. You will actively contribute to clinical governance structures and promote compliance with CQC standards and professional codes of practice.
About you
You will bring significant senior clinical leadership experience with significant experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist. You will hold a full GMC registration and licence to practice and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in Psychiatry. You will bring an excellent understanding of medical workforce management, clinical governance and revalidation processes and have a strong track record in delivering outcomes through highly engaged and empowered teams. You will have both the breadth and depth of skills to fulfil the role described above and strong leadership skills to inspire and lead with a focus on excellence and accountability. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence and support senior clinicians. You will also be a role model for the St Andrew’s CARE values and the pillars of our Leadership Commitment including compassionate, person-centred care.
