The Role:

The Data and Analytics teams supports the charity to harness the power of data to improve outcomes for patients and operational excellence for our non-clinical colleagues. The role of Business Intelligence Developer involves supporting the existing data platform and delivering new products to meet organisational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

The Business Intelligence Developer will work with the Lead Data Engineer, the Data Product Manager and the rest of the Data, Analytics and Performance team to determine user requirements and deliver quality data products. This involves the modelling of data, the creation of required data framework objects, testing of final products and engagement with users to ensure successful usage of end products.

  • Data Engineering: development of ETL processes, maintaining the data platform and creating unit tests for use in automated testing processes.
  • Power BI development: build and maintain semantic models and Power BI reports.
  • Data Analysis: interrogate data and collaborate with stakeholders to interpret findings, providing actionable insights based on data trends, patterns, and forecasts.
  • Support: respond to user issues to offer guidance on reporting solutions and raise, investigate and fix bugs where appropriate.
  • Monitor the data platform using all the alert and automated test systems, identifying areas where processes can be optimized.
  • Peer review code from team and collaborate on determining best practice for the team, documenting processes where required.
  • Personal development: take responsibility for learning new skills and certifications when required.

Your profile:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in developing data systems.
  • Experienced in SQL and DAX.
  • Knowledge of Python, PowerShell and YAML.
  • Experience in Microsoft data tooling such as: Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Fabric.
  • Experience creating data models and clearly communicating the reasoning for the model.
