We are currently looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and ambitious Occupational Therapist to join our Birmingham OT team. The Birmingham site has eight wards within a self-contained secure environment, featuring a mix of low and medium secure wards plus services for women and older adults. The service benefits from a comprehensive range of therapy resources including an Art Studio, Workshop, Gym, Sports Hall, music space and horticulture courtyard.

Location: Stirchley, Birmingham

Salary: £30,989 - £37,210 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Band: 6 Occupational Therapist opportunities available – salary from £38,729 depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for a clinical caseload, offering OT assessment and treatment to groups and individuals within your care.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of occupational therapy within inpatient services.
  • Promote the profession within your clinical team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Show resilience, curiosity and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or secure services.
  • Interest, knowledge and understanding of guiding theoretical frameworks and approaches (e.g., Model of Human Occupation, VdT MoCA, occupational science, occupational diagnosis and sensory approaches).
  • Experience in using occupational assessment tools to support clinical reasoning, treatment planning and evaluation of interventions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Resilience and curiosity.
