The National Probation Service (NPS) has partnered with St Andrew’s Healthcare to deliver Community Sentence Treatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative. This role offers a unique opportunity to work as an assistant psychologist embedded in probation offices under the supervision of qualified psychologists from St Andrew\’s Healthcare.
Responsibilities include supporting and enhancing the psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS), providing assessments and interventions under supervision, and working independently within agreed plans and policies.
Applicants should have some experience as an Assistant Psychologist, a relevant Master’s degree in psychology, and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society. The role involves face-to-face interventions across Maidstone and West Kent, with some remote sessions. Travel outside the main bases is reimbursed and may be required for training.
You will also facilitate communication within NPS and with other agencies, including primary care, mental health services, social care, and third sector organizations, to ensure continuity of care.
