Overview

Allied Health Professional (Occupational Therapist or Speech & Language Therapist) – Home Based ASD Assessment

Location: Home Based. Career Level B (NHS Band 6 – 7) options available. Salary for Senior AHP – From £46,781 depending on experience. Full-time 37.5 hours a week. Flexible working options available; mostly online assessments with occasional travel to the community in the Birmingham area and Northampton for meetings and supervision. Registration with HCPC is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic services for children and/or adults with ASD, depending on experience.
  • Deliver assessments online with potential face-to-face community assessments when required.
  • Travel to the community in the Birmingham area and occasionally to Northampton for team meetings and supervision.
  • Work with ASD service users and, where possible, apply diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 and DIVA-5; training can be provided if needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and take ownership of delivering clinical work with strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, professional development, and CPD activities; opportunities for research and training are available.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration in good standing.
  • Experience working with ASD service users is essential; ASD diagnostic experience is desirable (training can be provided).
  • Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and client-focused skills.
  • Full driving licence is desirable (to support community travel).
