Job Description

We are seeking to add to our register of supply teachers across a range of subjects and levels from P1 to S6. Rooted in the Ignatian tradition, our school nurtures the whole person — intellectually, spiritually, and socially — and we are looking for teachers who share our mission of forming young people of competence, conscience, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

•      Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons

•      Uphold the values of Jesuit education in classroom practice and relationships

•      Maintain a respectful and supportive learning environment

•      Follow school policies and contribute to the life of the school

We’re looking for someone who:

•      Has strong classroom management and communication skills

•      Is flexible, proactive, and confident teaching across different age groups

•      Holds a relevant teaching qualification and is GTCS registered

•      Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (PVG will be required)

•      Is open to engaging with the spiritual and pastoral ethos of Jesuit education

St Aloysius’ College places safeguarding of its pupils as its highest priority and as such the successful applicant will be subject to appropriate qualification checks and advanced PVG clearance. Appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment questions will form part of the selection process.

To comply with the regulations under The Education (Scotland) Act 2016, all teachers who commence employment at any Scottish Independent School on or after 1 October 2017 must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), either Provisional, Provisional (Conditional) or Full. Further information can be obtained from the GTCS website.
