Help shape housing opportunities and make a real difference to residents across our community.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader (Housing Supply) to join our Strategic Housing team. Working alongside a job share partner in a Team Leader role, you will help lead the Housing Supply function, ensuring social housing opportunities are allocated fairly, efficiently and in line with legislation and the Council's Allocations Policy.

This is a rewarding role where you will oversee housing allocations, nominations to Registered Providers and the effective use of available housing stock, helping residents access suitable homes when they need them most. You will also support transfer applications, mutual exchanges and downsizing initiatives. As a key member of the team, you will provide leadership to colleagues, manage complex housing cases and appeals, monitor performance and contribute to service improvements, helping us deliver an excellent, customer-focused service.

About you

You will be an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of housing legislation, particularly housing allocations and homelessness services, and a proven track record of leading and developing staff. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, you will be confident managing complex cases, balancing competing priorities and using performance data to drive improvements. You will bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding services for residents.

A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role is essential. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), or equivalent professional experience, would be advantageous. Above all, you will share our passion for supporting residents and delivering high-quality, inclusive services that make a positive difference in our community.

Join us to make a positive impact in our community by putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do, while living our values of trust, care, collaboration, confidence and customer focus.

LGR is one of the biggest changes we will face in a generation. It will reshape how we work and how services are organised and gives us a real opportunity to build something better. We hope you will be part of that journey with us.
