Job description and person specification summary

At St Alban's Catholic Primary School, we are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a 4 day per week basis, to join our skilled and hardworking team. The successful candidate will:

  • be passionate about working with children;
  • have a flexible 'can-do' attitude;
  • have the capability to inspire, motivate and challenge our pupils;
  • be committed to school's Catholic ethos.

The successful candidate will have the following key skills, experience and qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Maths;
  • first aid training is advantageous;
  • experience of working with children in an educational setting;
  • sensitivity, understanding and good listening skills;
  • the ability to remain calm in stressful situations;
  • knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children;
  • knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs.
