We are seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time live-in carer to provide dedicated support for a client with vascular dementia in Weybridge, Surrey. This role requires a patient and understanding individual who can offer comprehensive care and companionship, ideally six days per week from Sunday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of personal care, including daily showers, toileting, grooming, and incontinence management
- Provide encouragement and assistance with feeding
- Administer and prompt medication as prescribed
- Support mobility, as the client has weakened walking ability and requires assistance
- Engage in companionship activities, including storytelling and gentle conversation
- Implement distraction techniques when necessary
- Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
- Collaborate with the live-in housekeeper to ensure comprehensive care
Care Requirements:
- Experience in dementia care, particularly vascular dementia
- Understanding of cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss
- Ability to assist with all aspects of personal care
- Patience and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in mobility assistance for someone with weakened walking ability
- Knowledge of incontinence management (moderate degree, using pull-up pads)
