We are seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time live-in carer to provide dedicated support for a client with vascular dementia in Weybridge, Surrey. This role requires a patient and understanding individual who can offer comprehensive care and companionship, ideally six days per week from Sunday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of personal care, including daily showers, toileting, grooming, and incontinence management
  • Provide encouragement and assistance with feeding
  • Administer and prompt medication as prescribed
  • Support mobility, as the client has weakened walking ability and requires assistance
  • Engage in companionship activities, including storytelling and gentle conversation
  • Implement distraction techniques when necessary
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
  • Collaborate with the live-in housekeeper to ensure comprehensive care

Care Requirements:

  • Experience in dementia care, particularly vascular dementia
  • Understanding of cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss
  • Ability to assist with all aspects of personal care
  • Patience and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in mobility assistance for someone with weakened walking ability
