Join SSWUK Limited, a pioneering force in the UK's renewable energy sector! We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar PV Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in operating, maintaining, and cleaning our solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean solar panels and other system components to maintain optimal performance
  • Perform routine inspections to identify and address any issues affecting panel cleanliness and efficiency
  • Use appropriate cleaning methods and equipment to ensure panels are free from dirt, debris, and other contaminants
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and system performance
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all cleaning activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of solar PV systems to ensure they are operating efficiently
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical components
  • Conduct performance testing and analysis to identify and resolve system inefficiencies
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding system operation and maintenance
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in cleaning or maintenance roles, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical components, and importance of panel cleanliness
  • A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering, Installation, Testing & Inspection or similar, electrical course
  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • High Voltage Authorisation would be advantageous but not essential
  • A full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points is essential due to the remote nature of the sites
  • This role requires travelling and overnight stays, depending on site locations
