We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar O&M Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our solar energy systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Take primary responsibility for solar plant performance, optimisation of the site and maintaining equipment availability.
- Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance works across their solar farms, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning (occasionally) and support the HV team.
- Effectively help resolve work tickets and report issues back to your line manager, and compile reports of completed works.
- Liaise with internal and external teams, including in-house LV/HV personnel, the grounds team and external subcontractors when required.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior technicians where required.
- Take part in the company's on-call rota for non-working hours (including Bank Holidays, evenings, and weekends).
- Experience in industrial, utility-scale and/or rooftop solar is preferred. However, if no solar experience, then an industrial electrician background is of interest.
- A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering, Installation, Testing & Inspection or similar, electrical course.
- 18th edition wiring regulations.
- High Voltage Authorisation would be advantageous but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence is essential due to the remote nature of the sites.
- Strong technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable in basic troubleshooting and IT support.
- Experienced with data entry and familiar with various operating systems, full training will be provided.
