An Engineering Manager for Physical Electronic security systems (CCTV, Intruder, Access Control) based in Southampton. £60,000 – £65,000 DOE basic salary, company car or car allowance option, pension, Healthcare and well-being programmes plus.

SSR Personnel are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee and develop our clients' Electronic Security Division, supporting a customer portfolio across Police, Local Authority and Commercial sectors. The successful candidate will lead daily engineering operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery, compliance, technical performance and customer satisfaction. This is an office-based role in Hampshire.

The Role

  • Manage engineering operations, including installation, maintenance, and reactive service delivery
  • Lead supervisors, engineers and support staff, driving performance and continuous improvement
  • Oversee resource planning, scheduling and operational efficiency
  • Act as the senior escalation point for technical and service-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legislation and audit requirements
  • Support commercial activities, including quotations, cost control and operational performance
  • Build strong customer and supplier relationships while managing escalated issues professionally
  • Promote a positive health & safety culture and support ongoing training and development across the team

The Person

  • Proven experience managing engineering or electronic security teams
  • Strong operational, technical and people management skills
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and audit processes within the security industry
  • Ability to manage customer relationships and deliver high service standards
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting operational budgets and quotations
