As part of the Security Team who is responsible for Travel Security Risk and Operational Security, Threat Intelligence and Risk Management and Cyber Security, you will support the Lead on Operational Security and Travel Security. Given that they operate in some high-risk environments, this organisation prioritises traveller safety and duty of care. Due to the nature of their business, they are also exposed to sophisticated threats, necessitating robust security measures.
The Role
- Coordinate, manage, and implement travel security functions across the business.
- Ensure that employees traveling to high-risk locations receive comprehensive risk assessments, training, and support.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for travel security advice and incident management, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee travel security functions ensuring best practices are followed.
- Conduct Travel Risk Assessments for staff traveling to Level 4/5 risk countries, utilizing information from internal and external sources (e.g., UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office).
- Implement and enforce travel security procedures, ensuring all employees adhere to established protocols when visiting high-risk locations.
- Develop and apply security measures to mitigate risks associated with business travel.
- Administer travel security training programs, including online and in-person high-risk environment training, in collaboration with external training providers.
- Deliver security briefings and ongoing assistance to employees traveling to high-risk regions.
- Generate travel security risk reports as needed to support decision-making.
- Maintain relationships with global and local travel security providers to facilitate necessary security services for traveling employees.
- Liaise with internal teams (Security, Travel, HR, Business Support, Risk) to ensure compliance with travel risk management procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation for auditing and investigation purposes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for travel security-related incidents and provide immediate response support when needed.
- Undertake additional security-related responsibilities as required.
The Person
- Strong knowledge of global current affairs and their impact on international business travel.
- Expertise in travel risk assessment methodologies and best practices, including industry standards such as ISO 31001/ ISO 31030.
- Extensive experience in travel risk management, including security risk analysis for specific locations and countries.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using GIS systems to visualise data and map security threats.
- Familiarity with travel risk assessment tools and intelligence platforms.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Security-related certifications (e.g., MSyl, CPP, PSP, CISSP) are advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency in a second language is beneficial.
- Experience working with government agencies, law enforcement, or international security organisations.
- Established network within the travel security industry.
- Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
