Our client, a fast-growing, delivery-focused security services organisation, seeks a capable, self-sufficient Bid Writer to take full ownership of public sector tenders end-to-end β from opportunity review and research through to submission and client presentation. In this exciting role, you will work in a research-led, quality-driven bid environment, using structured governance and the controlled use of AI tools to enhance speed, clarity, and consistency β always with human judgement, accuracy checks, and confidentiality at the forefront. Beyond writing, the role includes direct client interaction, supporting bid presentations, clarification meetings, and mobilisation briefings. Key Responsibilities
- Bid Ownership & Delivery
- Independently lead assigned public sector bids from start to submission
- Plan bid activity, manage deadlines, reviews, and submission governance
- Produce compliance matrices, bid plans, outlines, and clarification logs
- Maintain strong document control, version management, and portal discipline
- Conduct structured research into Authorities, local priorities, and evaluation drivers
- Develop win themes and response strategies aligned to scoring methodology
- Write clear, persuasive, evidence-led responses that score well and read well
- Translate operational input (mobilisation, KPIs, ESG, policies, case studies) into compelling narratives
- Use AI tools to support drafting, summarisation, editing, and optimisation
- Apply strict human review, fact-checking, tone control, and confidentiality safeguards
- Maintain and improve bid libraries, templates, and prompt frameworks
- Prepare and deliver client presentations (virtual and in-person), including bid presentations and clarification meetings
- Maintain CRM records and produce quarterly reporting on bid activity, outcomes, and lessons learned
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering public sector tenders end-to-end
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement, compliance, and quality scoring
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a benefit-led, evaluator-focused style
- Confident presenter able to engage clients and senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Strong stakeholder management skills β able to extract, challenge, and shape input
- Advanced MS Office skills; confident using portals, collaboration tools, and CRM
