This independent fire alarm systems installer and service provider is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join their team, covering London and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, configuring, and testing fire detection systems to the highest industry standards. Strong working knowledge of Gent and Advanced fire alarm panels would be preferred. Applicants will need to have good working knowledge of BS 5839 (ideally with some certification i.e. FIA, Zzeus etc.) and a full driving licence.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out system cause-and-effect testing and ensuring correct operation
- Produce high-quality commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packs
- Support installation engineers with technical guidance where necessary
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Diagnose and rectify commissioning-related system issues
- Participate in the call-out rota (additional payment)
- Experience with other open and closed-protocol systems
- ECS/CSCS accreditation
- Experience in large commercial, industrial, or multi-site commissioning
This great opportunity comes with a basic salary between £45,000-£50,000 (depending on skill set) for a 40‑hour week, with door‑to‑door travel, overtime at enhanced rates and a company vehicle.
