Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire and Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems across commercial and residential sites. This is a hands‑on role requiring technical expertise, problem‑solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain fire detection and security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms)
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (BS5839, BS EN50131, etc.)
- Complete accurate documentation and reports for each job
- Liaise with clients to provide updates and technical support
- Participate in on‑call rota and respond to emergency call‑outs
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire and security systems engineering
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., FIA, NSI, City & Guilds) desirable
- CSCS/ECS card preferred
