Interim Legal Counsel (6-month FTC)

SSQ is looking for a Corporate/Private Equity lawyer to join the legal team of a leading international growth equity investor on a fixed-term basis.

The business manages several billion dollars of assets and invests in high-growth technology companies across Europe and North America.

Its portfolio spans sectors including enterprise software, AI, cybersecurity, fintech and healthcare technology.

The Role

Reporting into senior legal leadership, you will advise on a broad range of corporate and matters, including:

  • Advising on domestic and cross-border growth equity investments.
  • Supporting acquisitions, disposals and strategic corporate transactions.
  • Advising on portfolio company matters following investment, including governance and ongoing corporate support.
  • Advising on corporate restructurings and general corporate matters.
  • Supporting financing transactions and management incentive arrangements.
  • Working closely with investment professionals throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Liaising with external counsel where appropriate and coordinating legal workstreams across multiple jurisdictions.

This is a broad in-house role with a strong transactional focus.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to have

  • Approximately 4 years' PQE +
  • Strong Corporate M&A and/or Private Equity experience gained in-house or at a leading law firm.
  • Experience advising on complex cross-border transactions.
  • Previous in-house experience would be advantageous
