SSQ is working with a market-leading international organisation looking to hire a Data Privacy Counsel into a highly regarded in-house legal and risk function. This is an excellent move for:

The role:

You’ll work closely with legal, privacy, information security, and risk teams, gaining broad exposure across data protection and commercial matters in a collaborative, well-supported environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advising on UK GDPR and Data Protection Act compliance
  • Supporting commercial and data protection contracting (DPAs, SCCs)
  • Advising on data subject rights, international transfers, cookies, and e-marketing
  • Assisting with DPIAs and records of processing activities
  • Researching regulatory developments, enforcement trends, and case law
  • Helping develop policies, templates, and training materials

About you:

  • NQ–3 PQE (or equivalent)
  • Experience in private practice or in-house across commercial contracts and data protection
  • Strong drafting skills and commercial awareness
  • Keen to build specialist expertise in data privacy within a structured environment
