Join a market-leading Commercial Technology team recognised for handling some of the UK's most complex commercial and technology transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Technology Associate to join a highly regarded international law firm advising on high-value, complex matters across a broad range of industries. The team is recognised as Band 1 by both Chambers and Legal 500, with an outstanding reputation in the commercial technology market.

The Role

You'll advise on a wide variety of commercial and technology matters, including:

  • Commercial contracts, including the supply of goods and services, supply chain and distribution arrangements, facilities agreements, agency and franchise agreements, marketing and sponsorship agreements, joint ventures, collaboration agreements and payment services agreements.
  • Technology transactions, including SaaS, IaaS and other cloud computing arrangements, digital transformation projects, software licensing and distribution, technology development and implementation agreements, data protection and technology-related regulation, including the use of AI.
  • Complex outsourcing projects across multiple sectors, including technology and business process outsourcing, financial services, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.

The team regularly advises leading national and international businesses on high-profile commercial and technology projects, including major outsourcing and digital transformation transactions.

Why Join?

This is a team where associates are trusted, supported and given every opportunity to develop their careers. Key highlights include:

  • High-quality, standalone Commercial Technology work, with the vast majority of matters generated directly by the team rather than through corporate support.
  • A high level of autonomy, with associates encouraged to take ownership of their work from an early stage.
  • Excellent progression opportunities, supported by a strong track record of promoting talent from within.
  • A flat, partner-led structure, providing direct access to experienced partners, close collaboration and excellent mentoring.
  • Excellent retention, with low attrition and many lawyers choosing to move into in-house roles with longstanding clients rather than competitor firms.
  • A genuinely collaborative culture, where lawyers describe the team as supportive, ambitious and focused on creating a positive working environment.
  • Meaningful client exposure, with associates encouraged to build relationships, attend networking events and become trusted advisers early in their careers.
  • Broad sector experience, allowing lawyers to develop a well-rounded commercial technology practice before choosing to specialise.
  • An ambitious growth strategy, with continued investment in securing increasingly sophisticated and high-profile work.

About You

The team is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience advising on commercial contracts and/or commercial technology matters.
  • Is commercially minded and genuinely interested in understanding clients' businesses.
  • Enjoys working directly with clients and becoming an integral part of client teams.
  • Wants to build a career within a genuine standalone Commercial Technology practice rather than predominantly supporting corporate transactions.
  • Is intellectually curious and enjoys technically challenging work.
  • Experience advising on advertising regulation would be an advantage but is not essential.

This is a long-term opportunity to join one of the leading teams in the market, offering outstanding work, genuine responsibility and a clear path for career progression within a supportive and ambitious environment.
