The Role
A leading international law firm is seeking a Risk Lawyer to join its Risk & Compliance function on a fixed-term basis. The role involves providing legal and regulatory support across the firm, advising on professional conduct, compliance and risk management issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on daily queries relating to professional standards, ethics, data protection, supplier terms and conflicts.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and identifying any impact on the business.
- Drafting and maintaining policies, systems and procedures.
- Reviewing and advising on conflict reports, including complex or cross-border matters.
- Drafting and updating terms of engagement with clients and third parties.
- Supporting with compliance registers and other monitoring processes.
- Handling escalated conflicts queries.
- Assisting with ad hoc risk and compliance projects as required.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales).
- At least two yearsβ experience in legal compliance.
- Knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and wider regulatory framework.
- Strong drafting skills, with experience preparing policies, procedures and contracts.
- Solid understanding of data protection, AML, sanctions, bribery and related compliance areas.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues confidently.
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities.
- Training experience desirable but not essential.
